Borealis Rex

New Orleans, LA
Borealis Rex is an American rock band and some farm-to-table MFs. Catchy an...d blues-indebted, Borealis Rex is the new face of rock, longitude/latitude South. Guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Chance Casteel fronts Borealis and infamous cowpunk guitarist and songwriter Bill Davis (of Dash Rip Rock fame) brings the swamp grease. Hailing from New Orleans and South Louisiana, the band’s organic sound blends hot guitars and harmonies. B-Rex’s rock is modern yet homespun-- wholly new but reminiscent of 70s rock icons at their best. Read More

Caleb Caudle

Nashville, TN
Caleb Caudle wanted a down-home, funky sound for his new album. He assemble...d several Grammy-winning musicians to chase it down in the Cash Cabin, built by Johnny Cash in 1979, a small place with a big history. “It feels like you’re in the shadow of giants,” Caudle says. He emerged from the shadows with Better Hurry Up. Caudle and producer, John Jackson, used the space to create a dramatic, compelling record. “None of us wore headphones,” Caudle says. “It just like we were doing it for the love of music – it didn’t feel like we were making a record. It felt like I was playing with an incredible group of musicians and making art.” The sound suits the songs, which Caudle wrote after immersing himself in the vintage roots-funk of Leon Russell, J.J. Cale, Dr. John, The Band, and Little Feat. Caudle's critically acclaimed catalog includes features on Rolling Stone’s “10 New Country Artists You Need To Know” and “The 10 Best Country and Americana Songs To Hear Now” along with NPR’s “Songs We Love”. His songs have been featured on CMT's Nashville and Netflix's The Ranch. “Caleb Caudle’s sound encompasses the wide expanse of America, as the best country rock always will.” - NPR Read More

David Wax Museum

Charlottesville, VA
It's been nearly a dozen years since David Wax and Suz Slezak played their ...first show together, kicking off a partnership that's led to seven records, multiple Top 20 chart placements, performances alongside contemporaries like The Avett Brothers and heroes like Los Lobos, and — most importantly — a family of four. As that family has grown, so has the band's sound. Filled with husband-and-wife vocal harmonies, Mexican stringed instruments, melodic hooks, and blasts of brass, David Wax Museum's albums fly the worldly flag for a brand of Americana that reaches far beyond American borders. Early in 2018, after honing a new batch of songs on the road, they found themselves making music in the Nashville-based home studio of Carl Broemel (My Morning Jacket's, Ray LaMontagne) who produced David Wax Museum's most compelling work to date, Line of Light. Released in 2019 by the Austin-based indie label Nine Mile Records, the album refocuses on the band's two co-founders. Weaving the personal with the political, the global with the spiritual, Line of Light chronicles the landscapes and longings that connect us all. Read More

Lizzy & the Triggermen

Los Angeles, CA
Lizzy & the Triggermen (dubbed "10-piece jazz sensations" by LA Weekly) is ...taking the wailing sound of 1930s big band and making it feel arrestingly modern. Be it songs about heartbreak, drugs, even the world ending – they turn our troubles into gloriously raucous dance music that recharges the spirit in that way only a full horn section can. In just a year, they've headlined some of Los Angeles' premiere venues (the Wiltern, the El Rey, and the Troubadour) all without putting out a single track - just through word-of-mouth about their electric live shows. Helmed by the powerhouse vocals and femme fatale swagger of Lizzy (who also writes their songs) and killer arrangements by Dan Barrett (who played with and arranged for Benny Goodman) and a dream team of jazz musicians - they are tapping into a deep desire in audiences for something different, glamorous, underground, that transports them into another world. Their debut EP, “Good Songs for Bad Times” is set to be released in April 2020. Read More

Pike & Sutton is a partnership, a creative evolution and a promise fulfille...d. Equally anchored by the powerhouse vocals of Patrice Pike and the electrifying guitars of Wayne Sutton – best known as co-founders of ‘90s seminal jam band/modern rock favorites Sister Seven – their debut album Heart Is A Compass is both a transformative celebration of the pair’s R&B, soul and roots influences and an exhilarating call-to-arms for the faithful. “Neither of us had a grand vision,” explains Wayne. “We just assumed it would be eclectic and that it would happen organically, because that’s who we are.” Co-produced by Pike, Sutton and Grammy-winner Jim Watts – known for his work with Emmylou Harris, Ben Harper and Kelly Clarkson – the album crackles with passion, vision and undeniable hip-shaking rhythms. “There’s something that happens when you make music together for a long time,” Patrice says. “This album is exciting because it sustains the connection we’ve had since we were teenagers, and proves that the music we make remains meaningful to us and our audience too.” It’s on standout songs like the rousing “Take A Stand”, the roots-funk sway of “Let The Music Get You High” and the intense s Read More

Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys

Scott, LA
Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys began thirty years ago with a reputation... for excellence. Their stunningly clean and cohesive performance of Cajun French music from the backwaters of Southwest Louisiana propelled them into the world music limelight early on, and by their third release, Trace of Time, had garnered them a Grammy nomination in the worldwide field of traditional folk music, another in 2004 for Bon Reve, in 2009 for Live at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and again in 2011 for their release, Grand Isle. From the day they started, they have gone from strength to strength. Never before in Cajun music has a comparable wealth of skills been brought to the same table. When all that heart and all that skill focus on the revelry of a hot two-step, then turn on a dime and deliver an a cappella ballad, then play something that sounds like Howlin’ Wolf fell in lust with a Creole girl, you’ve found the most Cajun music you can find in any one spot. You’ve found Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys. Read More
