The Haden Triplets

Los Angeles, CA
The Haden Triplets—Petra, Rachel and Tanya—were born in New York and ra...ised in Los Angeles, and carry between them a list of credits that includes some of the most interesting rock, jazz and experimental music to come along in the past 30 years: that dog., Weezer, Beck, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, Bill Frisell, Sunn O))), Mike Watt, Paul Motian, Silversun Pickups and the Decemberists, to name just a handful. But like their late father, the bassist Charlie Haden, who changed jazz’s trajectory alongside Ornette Coleman beginning in the 1950s, the sisters also belong to the American heartland, and to the winsome family harmony singing of the region’s folk and country music. On The Family Songbook, the follow-up to their acclaimed 2014 self-titled debut, the Haden Triplets mine their heritage more profoundly than ever before. That includes recording recently unearthed songs by their grandfather, Carl E. Haden, a figure of novel-esque dimensions: friend to the Carter Family, Porter Wagoner and other icons, and patriarch of the singing Haden Family, a fascinating footnote in country-music history. Jason Hawk Harris

Los Angeles, CA
Jason Hawk Harris hit rock bottom during the writing and recording of his d...ebut full-length Love & the Dark. In the last few years, the Houston-born-and-raised, Los Angeles-based musician endured life-altering hardships—illness, death, familial strife, and addiction—yet from these trials, a luxuriant and confident vision of art country emerged. Bloodshot first caught Jason at Folk Alliance in Kansas City in 2018, when he gave goosebumps to everyone within the dingy walls of a tiny hotel room with his evocative, powerful, and unrestrained live duo set. Later in the year, he opened up for our own Sarah Shook & the Disarmers on a run of tour dates, after which Sarah relayed her wholehearted approval. With an unlikely background, Harris is a singer/guitarist/songwriter who walks his own line, one that touches on Lyle Lovett’s lyrical frankness, John Moreland’s punk cerebralism and Judee Sill’s mysticism and orchestral sensibility. There’s even the literary and sonic audacity of an early Steve Earle, an outlaw unafraid to embrace harmony. Read More

Jordan Moser

Wimberley, TX
"Moser reveals himself as a contemplative, wandering soul, soaked in an age...-old cynicism and plainspoken wisdom." (Secret Meeting, UK). Upon the closing of a career as a professional ballet dancer, Jordan Moser brought his other life-long passion of songwriting to center stage with his release of Long Night. Paste Magazine described Long Night as, "understated, but quietly vibrant and unexpectedly absorbing.” Early on, Jordan Moser cut his teeth busking in New York City while pursuing his dance career. Arriving in Austin in 2007, he found himself playing his songs in any and every cafe, bar and venue in town. In 2017, Jordan and his band (Dailey Toliver, Molly Burch, Jeff Crozier) traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas to record what would become Long Night. 2019 saw the release with a celebrated show at Austin’s famed listening room, Cactus Cafe. Jordan Moser resides in Wimberley, Texas where he makes music in the hilltop writing shack of his late father-in-law— journalist, author and purveyor of the Texas myth, Billy Porterfield. Jordan Moser’s brand of literary folk-country is quietly wise, with memorable melodies and gut-punch lyricism. Read More

Karen Jonas is a Country and Americana singer, songwriter, and performer fr...om Fredericksburg, Va. Her colorful songwriting grabbed national attention immediately upon the release of her 2014 debut album “Oklahoma Lottery,” leading to international praise for her following albums: 2016’s confident “Country Songs,” and 2018’s swanky “Butter.” 2019’s honest “Lucky, Revisited,” is an “action-packed overview of Jonas’ finest songwriting” (Glide Magazine). Six years of non-stop touring have produced a smoldering live act with a steady band of seasoned pros, featuring guitarist Tim Bray that has shared stages with Dale Watson, Alabama, Joe Ely, Bob Schneider, Brandy Clark, Robert Earl Keen, Amanda Shires and dozens more—lighting up venues around the country from intimate house concerts and listening rooms to rowdy honky-tonks and outdoor festivals.
